Ringflash and Easter

Today was Easter around the world, and in Haiti it marks two great things: The resurrection of Christ, and the end of RaRa, which is the Haitian carnival spectacle of meandering bands of drunken musicians (though that noun is a bit generous). RaRa also produces a good number of machete fights. Machete wounds are no fun, and they keep our clinic staff a little busier this time of year.

And just like folks around the world, a lot of Haitians buff up their shoes and break out their best dresses, hats and shirts for church on Easter Sunday. So it seemed like some fun with a ringflash was in order.

A big thanks to my friend Chris Phebus for assisting me and playing crowd control.

We've had a long week and an even longer weekend, but a great one. I'm looking forward to resting a bit tomorrow before hitting a bit more traveling.
